MEET LANCE

Choosing the
Right Therapist Matters

Finding someone you trust shouldn’t be the hardest part of getting help. My goal is to create a space where boys, men, and families feel understood, not managed, and leave each session with something real to work with.

Focused on Real Change

It's not just about talking. We work on practical strategies that make a difference.

Support for the Whole Family

Parents are part of the process. When families are involved, change sticks.

Built on Trust and Respect

Boys don't open up to just anyone. We take time to build a real connection first.

Experience That Matters

Over a decade working with boys and families. Specialized in ADHD, ASD, and equine-assisted therapy.

A Safe, Judgement-Free Space

No labels, no pressure. A place where boys can be honest about what's actually going on.

Practical and Down  to Earth

No jargon, no formulas. Just grounded support that fits how boys actually think.

Why Therapy4Boys

The three most destructive words that every man receives when he’s a boy is when he’s told to ‘be a man'.

— Joe Ehrmann

Boys aren’t born disconnected from their emotions. They’re taught to be.

From early childhood, boys receive a clear message: feelings are weakness. Toughen up. Don’t cry. By the time most boys reach my office, they’ve spent years learning to mask what’s actually happening inside. That mask shows up as anger, impulsivity, withdrawal, or anxiety. The boy gets labelled as the problem.

I started this work because I believe emotions are human, not gendered. A boy who can’t identify what he’s feeling can’t regulate it. A boy who can’t regulate it acts it out. And a boy who acts it out gets told to try harder. What he actually needed was someone to help him understand himself.

Therapy4Boys exists to give boys back what they were never supposed to lose.

Specialized Focus

I specialize in ADHD, ASD and related challenges in boys, adolescents, and men.

Family Involved

I partner with parents as lasting change happens when everyone works together.

Unique Environment

Our farm provides experiences that help build skills in a natural, engaging way.

Practical and Real

You’ll get practical strategies that can be used in everyday life.

My Approach

Understanding
Before Strategies

Behaviour makes more sense when we understand what’s driving it. I take the time to get the full picture.

Practical and
Solutions Focused

Every session has a purpose. We work on skills that create real progress at home, at school, and in life.

Parents Are Key Parts
of the Process

I provide guidance, support, and tools so you can feel confident helping your son between sessions.

You'll Be Heard,
Not Managed

Every session has direction. You won’t just talk about things. You’ll leave with something to do with it.

Beyond the Office

When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me at the farm with the horses, mini-donkeys, chickens, and ducks. The outdoors keeps me grounded and reminds me of what matters most. Connection, patience, and showing up consistently.

I live just outside Calgary with my family and believe in the importance of strong relationships, hard work, and a good dose of humour.
